Ayumu Akutsu is a Japanese poet and book designer born in April 1981 in Tokyo. She graduated from Waseda University's Second School of Literature. In 2010, she received the inaugural Hagiwara Sakutaro Memorial 'Tooru Mo' Prize for her second poetry collection, 'Inochidzuna: Living with Inner 'Self-Deaths'. Her works have been published in various newspapers including Tokyo Shimbun and Shizuoka Shimbun. She is a member of the Japan Modern Poets Association and creates her own book designs.
