Azat Nikolai Shaginyan (November 10, 1928 - January 8, 2002) was an Armenian Soviet writer, playwright, and novelist born in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR. He became a member of the Union of Soviet Writers in 1958. His literary contributions have established him as a significant figure in Armenian literature. Shaginyan's works reflect the cultural and social realities of his time, making him an important voice in Soviet-era literature.
