Azniv Petrosyan was an Armenian Soviet biologist, born on January 8, 1903, in Van, Ottoman Empire. He is recognized as one of the founders of microbiology in the Armenian SSR. Petrosyan obtained his Doctorate in Biological Sciences in 1957, and he was promoted to professor in 1958. His significant contributions to the field earned him the title of Honored Figure of Science of the Armenian SSR in 1965. He passed away on December 27, 1971, in Yerevan, Armenian SSR, USSR.
