Babak Dad (born February 13, 1970, in Khorramshahr – died April 24, 2020, in Paris) was a parliamentary reporter, journalist, blogger, and analyst of Iranian affairs based in France. He served as the second secretary of the political and parliamentary service for the newspaper Salam, covered the candidacy of Mohammad Khatami in the 1997 elections, and was an advisor to Mehdi Karroubi during the 2005 presidential elections. After the unrest following the 2009 presidential elections, he lived clandestinely in Iran before emigrating to France.
