Dr. Ir. Badrul Mustafa Kemal, M.S., D.E.A. is an Indonesian academic and earthquake expert, currently a lecturer at Andalas University. He has extensively researched environmental issues, becoming a key reference in disaster management, particularly in West Sumatra. Badrul completed his bachelor's degree in geophysics and meteorology at Bandung Institute of Technology in 1984, then obtained his master's degree from Bordeaux I University and his doctorate from Pierre and Marie Curie University in France. He also ran for mayor of Padang in the 2018 local elections.
