Baldramina Flores Urquieta was a Chilean activist and writer born on December 24, 1924, in Mialqui, Región de Coquimbo. She dedicated her life to human rights advocacy, particularly after the 1973 coup led by General Augusto Pinochet, inspired by the desire to reclaim the memory of her son, Humberto Lizardi Flores. She founded the A.F.E.P.I. and was instrumental in addressing human rights violations in Chile. Besides activism, she was also a poet, publishing works such as 'Recordando al Hijo' and 'Con Alma de Mujer.' She received the title of 'Hija Ilustre de Iquique' in 2000.
