Bandula Warnapura is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer born on March 1, 1953, in Rambukkana. He captained the Sri Lanka national cricket team and was the first captain in the history of Sri Lankan cricket to lead the team in their inaugural Test. Warnapura represented Sri Lanka in Test and One Day Internationals from 1975 to 1982, primarily as an all-rounder, proficient in right-handed opening batting and medium pace bowling. He later served as a coach and held roles in Sri Lanka cricket administration, currently working with the Asian Cricket Council.
