Barbara J. Jacket was an influential American track and field coach, recognized for her outstanding contributions to athletics. She served as the head coach for women's track and field at Prairie View A&M from 1965 to 1991, securing ten NAIA titles and later became the athletic director. Notably, she coached the American women's team at the 1992 Summer Olympics and was the second African-American woman to hold such a position. Jacket also led teams in the 1987 and 1991 World Championships and was inducted into the International Women's Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.
