Barbara Lok is a Dutch singer born on January 12, 1971, in Zwartsluis. She began her musical journey in a gospel choir. While studying at the conservatory, she gained experience as part of the German girl group Valeries Garten. After graduating in 1996, she taught at various music schools and worked as a backing vocalist for Willeke Alberti. Lok participated in the National Song Festival in 2003 and 2005, where she placed ninth with her song 'Tranen in de stilte.' Her debut CD 'Leef Nu' was released in 2006, followed by a second CD in 2011.
