Barbara Joan Rotvig, nicknamed 'Big Swede', was an American pitcher in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. She played for the Kenosha Comets from 1948 to 1951. Despite never having a winning season, her career ERA was an impressive 2.52. Rotvig threw two no-hitters and was known for her strong pitching, leading the league in strikeouts in 1949. She was also active in several sports during high school and was involved in women's golf. Rotvig died of cancer at age 36, and an award in her name honors female athletes.
