Barnabas Lindars (1923–1991), originally named Frederick Chevallier Lindars, was a prominent English New Testament scholar and Anglican priest. He was educated at Altrincham Grammar School and St John's College, Cambridge. Lindars became the Dean of Jesus College, Cambridge, and later served as the Rylands Professor of Biblical Criticism and Exegesis at the University of Manchester from 1978 to 1990. He was honored by the publication of essays in his name in 1988, featuring contributions from notable scholars. Lindars passed away on October 21, 1991.
