Barney Chavous is a former American football defensive end who played in the NFL for the Denver Broncos from 1973 to 1985. Selected second overall in the 1973 NFL draft, he distinguished himself as a notable player, ranking third in career sacks for the Broncos with 75. After his NFL career, he served as the head football coach at T. W. Josey High School and currently coaches at Tutt Middle School. He is also noted for being the uncle of former NFL player Corey Chavous.
