Barry Eugene 'Butch' Wilmore is a NASA astronaut and United States Navy test pilot, born on December 29, 1962, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He flew on the Space Shuttle for 11 days in November 2009 during mission STS-129 to the International Space Station, serving as a pilot alongside five other crew members. His most recent spaceflight was part of Expedition 41 aboard the ISS. Prior to his NASA selection as an astronaut in July 2000, Wilmore was a test pilot for the Navy and contributed to the development of the McDonnell Douglas T-45 Goshawk.
