He is an emeritus professor at Idaho State University, specializing in general relativity, black holes, and cosmology, with research also in the physics of DNA. Parker has published 25 books, primarily in the popular science genre, with his first scientific book, 'Einstein's Dream: The Search for a Unified Theory of the Universe,' published in 1986.
