He represents the Mandla Lok Sabha constituency and was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in 2009. Prior to this, he served as the Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Bodar, Block Karanjiya, and was a member of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly from 1993 to 1998. He is an agriculturist based in Dindori district.
