Her father, Hassan Al Jandaly, was a brigadier general in the Syrian army. Notably, she is a cousin of the late American businessman Steve Jobs, Syrian novelist Mona Simpson, and musician Malik Jandaly. She remains in contact with her uncle Abdul Fattah Jandaly, who is Steve Jobs' father.
