Bauke Tjibbeles Miedema (April 16, 1909 – July 6, 1995) was a Dutch farmer, astronomer, and instrument maker from Minnertsgea. After completing agricultural school, he crafted about 20 astronomical telescopes, as well as other instruments like lathes, tripods, and tubes. Miedema was known for his hands-on approach, performing calculations and polishing lenses by feel, resulting in high-quality products. Many of his creations were sold outside of Fryslân, and he also wrote poetry. His innovative skills earned him recognition in the field of astronomy.
