Recognized as the Melody Queen, she has performed nearly 1000 songs on Doordarshan, radio, albums, and other platforms. She is the granddaughter of the renowned Rasaraj Lakshminath Bezbarua and Pragyasundari Devi. In 1976, she married the writer and lyricist Dwijendra Mohan Sharma.
