Bedrettin Cömert (September 27, 1940 - July 11, 1978) was a Turkish academic, translator, and writer. He was involved in political events at Hacettepe University and was killed during a politically polarized period in Turkey. He was tortured in 1977 in Diyarbakır and appointed as a lecturer in the Art History Department at Hacettepe University in 1972. Cömert won a translation award for his translation of Gombrich's 'The Story of Art' and published significant works in the field of criticism and translation.
