Ben Parkinson MBE is a former British paratrooper and veteran's campaigner born on 31 March 1984. He is recognized as the most severely wounded soldier to survive the Afghanistan War, having suffered the amputation of both legs, a broken back, and lasting brain damage from a landmine explosion in 2006. Defying medical expectations, he learned to walk and talk again, actively supports veterans' charities, and his injuries prompted increased compensation for wounded soldiers from the Ministry of Defence.
