Ben Proffitt is a British windsurfer born on January 20, 1978, in Shrewsbury. He began windsurfing at age 10 in Cornwall and won the National Champion title for under-15s in 1992. Proffitt earned a bronze medal at the Aloha World Championships in 1994 and achieved his first forward loop at 22. He is a multiple-time British champion in wave competition and participates in the PWA Tour with sail number K-800. Since 2011, he has been a commentator for the Windsurf World Cup and launched a website dedicated to professional windsurfing.
