Ben Zion Shenker was a celebrated American Hasidic composer and hazzan, born in 1925 and associated with the Modzitz dynasty. He started performing on radio as a teenager and became close to Rabbi Shaul Taub, a Holocaust survivor and Modzitz Grand Rabbi. Shenker dedicated his life to preserving and recording pre-war Modzitz songs and Taub's post-war compositions, founding the Neginah music label for these works. Renowned for his contributions, he composed hundreds of Modzitz melodies and played a pivotal role in the Hasidic music community until his passing in 2016.
