Benedita Rodrigues da Silva was a prominent Brazilian actress born on February 1, 1911, in São Paulo and died on March 12, 1984, in Rio de Janeiro. She gained recognition as the first Tia Nastácia in the television adaptation of Sítio do Picapau Amarelo from 1952 to 1963. Benedita worked in various teleplays and eventually contributed to several telenovelas after the series ended. Due to the scarcity of roles for black actors, she joined the postal service in her sixties while occasionally acting, including a posthumous tribute role.
