Benedito Onofre Seviero (October 20, 1931 – January 20, 2016) was a prominent Brazilian composer, recognized as one of the key figures in sertaneja music. He achieved significant success with his song 'Boate Azul,' originally recorded by the duo Joaquim and Manuel. Seviero began composing music at 18, with his first song 'Santa Cruz da Serra' written in 1949. Over his career, he had over two thousand songs recorded by more than three hundred artists, including notable names in Brazilian music. He passed away at 84 due to a heart attack.
