Luiz Benes Leocádio de Araújo, commonly known as Benes Leocádio, is a Brazilian public servant and politician born on April 22, 1966, in Santana do Matos. He is affiliated with the União Brasil party and has served multiple terms as the mayor of Lajes, as well as president of the Federation of Municipalities of Rio Grande do Norte for four terms. In the 2018 elections, he was the most voted federal deputy in Rio Grande do Norte, advocating for municipal rights and addressing public security issues, particularly following the tragic murder of his son.
