Ólavur Bergur Jacobsen is a Faroese priest and former politician born on March 29, 1947, in Klaksvík. He graduated with a studentereksamen in 1971 and earned his theology degree in 1976. Jacobsen served as a parish priest in various locations including Sandoy and London. He held several positions in education and media and has been a priest in the Faroese congregation in Copenhagen since 1995. Jacobsen was also the Minister of Culture and Education for the Faroe Islands from April 24, 1993, to September 15, 1994.
