Bernard Bizjak-Kostja was a Slovenian partisan, officer, and major general in the Yugoslav People's Army. Born on May 8, 1921, in Brezovica pri Ljubljani, he joined the Communist Party of Slovenia and the National Liberation Movement in 1941. He held various high-ranking positions in the partisans, including political commissioner of battalions and brigades. After World War II, he continued to serve in political roles within the Yugoslav Army and graduated from the Military Academy of the Ground Army in Belgrade in 1956. He was awarded the Partisan Memorial 1941.
