Air Vice-Marshal Sir Bernard Albert Chacksfield (1913-1999) was a distinguished Royal Air Force officer and later served as chief commissioner of The Scout Association. He began his RAF career as an apprentice in 1927, advancing to command No. 910 Wing in Burma during WWII. Recognized for his service with mentions in despatches, he held senior roles within the RAF and NATO before retiring in 1968. Post-retirement, he was active in Scouting, receiving top honors for his contributions. He also chaired the Burma Star Association until his passing.
