Bernard Rogel is a French Admiral, born on January 5, 1956, in Brest. He became the Chief of Staff of the French Navy on September 12, 2011. Rogel started his naval career after school and attended the French Naval Academy in 1976. He commanded nuclear attack submarines and participated in training submarine crews. His career includes roles in military education, advising the President on naval matters, and leading the Chief of Staff's cabinet. As of July 13, 2016, he was succeeded by Admiral Christophe Prazuck as Chief of Staff.
