Bernardo Jaramillo Ossa was a Colombian politician born on September 2, 1955, in Manizales. He was an influential agrarian leader in Urabá Antioqueño and a member of the Colombian Communist Party. After the assassination of Jaime Pardo Leal in 1987, he became the president of the Unión Patriótica (UP). Ossa served as a member of the Senate of the Republic and was a presidential candidate for the UP before he was assassinated in Bogotá on March 22, 1990.
