Bertold Sommer (born September 13, 1937) was a German jurist who served as a judge at the Federal Constitutional Court from 1991 to 2003. He commenced his legal career at the Federal Insurance Institute for Employees, then joined the judiciary in Berlin, initially at the district court and later at the administrative court. Over the years, he held prestigious positions including scientific associate and judge at various courts. In 1991, Sommer was elected as a judge in the Second Senate of the Federal Constitutional Court, retiring in 2003.
