Berton L. Stevens, born in 1951, is an American amateur astronomer credited with the discovery of 60 asteroids between 2002 and 2011, according to the Minor Planet Center. He co-directs the Desert Moon Observatory in Las Cruces, New Mexico, with his wife, Janet. An asteroid, designated (38540) Stevens, is named in his honor.
