Betty Lafon Neumar (1931-2011) was an American woman notorious for being charged with orchestrating the murder of her fourth husband, Harold Gentry, in 1986. Her arrest in 2007 was prompted by the persistent advocacy of Gentry's brother, Al, who sought justice for years. The subsequent investigation revealed that Neumar had been married five times, with all her husbands having died under dubious circumstances. This led to her being nicknamed the 'Black Widow' by the media. Neumar passed away in a Louisiana hospital from cancer before her trial could take place.
