Bhabani Charan Pattanayak was an Indian politician and independence activist, born on May 11, 1922. He represented Odisha in the Rajya Sabha for three terms, elected in 1961, 1966, and 1978. An active participant in the Indian freedom struggle, he was awarded the Padma Shri in 2018. He was also a founding member of Nimapara Autonomous College. Pattanayak passed away in Bhubaneswar on May 14, 2020, at the age of 98.
