He served as a former member of the Lok Sabha, having been elected in a by-election in 1997 from the Nagaur constituency of Rajasthan, defeating Ram Nivas Mirdha. Born on March 27, 1953, he studied at Delhi University and is a farmer by profession. He is the son of Nathuram Mirdha. He is married to Indira Mirdha and has two sons.
