Biju Mathew is a New York-based Marxist activist-intellectual originally from India. He teaches Information Systems and American studies at Rider University in New Jersey. With extensive experience in labor organization, he co-founded the New York Taxi Workers Alliance and serves as the founding secretary of the National Taxi Workers Alliance and president of the International Alliance of App-Based Transport Workers. Mathew is also a published writer, known for the 2005 book 'Taxi!: Cabs and Capitalism in New York City' and has authored several academic articles.
