Birgit Klomp is a retired German swimmer born on April 27, 1940, in Düsseldorf, specializing in freestyle events. She competed in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, where she finished fourth in the 4x100 meters freestyle and was eliminated in the semifinals of the 400 meters freestyle. Klomp won a bronze medal at the 1954 European Swimming Championships in the 4x100 meters freestyle and was a national champion in both 100 and 400 meters freestyle in West Germany in the mid-1950s. She is married to water polo player Friedhelm Osselmann and has a son, Rainer, who won a bronze medal in water polo at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
