Birhan Dagne, born on April 8, 1978, is an Ethiopian-born British long-distance runner. She was a promising athlete in Ethiopia and represented her country in various international competitions. After facing adversity due to her ethnic background, she sought political asylum in the UK in 1995. Dagne successfully changed her allegiance to Great Britain in 1998 and competed in the IAAF World Cross Country Championships. She became a member of local running clubs and participated in numerous endurance races, including the London Marathon.
