Bishop Eusebius, born Jevstignei Feoktistovitš Samartsev on August 5, 1905, was a significant figure in the Russian Old Believer community. He worked on his father's farm before joining a collective farm and later served as a miner. He was drafted into military service during World War II, returning to work in mining afterwards. By 1949, he became a priest, and in 1953, he was consecrated as a bishop. He held various bishopric positions, including in Perm and Kursk, until his death on September 5, 1968.
