He represents the Paneri constituency and was previously a member of the Rajya Sabha from 2008 to 2020. Daimary was first elected to the Assam Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2006, and after leaving the Bodoland People's Front in 2020, he joined the BJP. His political career includes various committee memberships and leadership roles within political organizations.
