Active in local politics in Karlskrona since 1976, he was a municipal councilor from 1994 to 2002, noted for his fight against neo-Nazism. He served as Sweden's national drug coordinator from 2002 until late 2007. Afterward, he worked in public affairs and led a prevention center in Stockholm. He has engaged in politics through various parties and contributed to initiatives combating stigma and social exclusion, particularly through art projects involving incarcerated individuals.
