Blago Zadro was a Croatian politician and general who played a significant role during the Croatian War of Independence. He gained fame as the commander of Croatian volunteers during the Battle of Vukovar, where he defended the strategically important Trpinjska cesta against the Yugoslav People's Army and Serbian paramilitaries. Zadro is regarded as a freedom fighter and national hero by many Croats for his dedication to an independent Croatia. He died during a successful defense of Borovo Naselje on October 16, 1991.
