Bob Astles, known as Lubowa in the Ngo clan, was a British soldier and colonial officer in Uganda. He worked closely with Milton Obote and Idi Amin. After serving in the British Indian Army and Royal Engineers, he moved to Uganda and founded the first African-employing airline. Despite his support for Obote, he became a close advisor to Amin, managing various tasks including a pineapple farm and government transport. Following Amin's regime, he was imprisoned but later returned to the UK, dedicating his life to political commentary against foreign interference in Africa.
