Bob Donewald, Sr. is a retired American college basketball coach notable for leading Illinois State University to its first NCAA tournament appearances and its initial Missouri Valley Conference championship in the early 1980s. He previously coached at South Bend St. Joseph's High School and served as an assistant under Bobby Knight at Indiana University during their unbeaten national championship season. After a successful stint at ISU, he coached Western Michigan University, where he achieved NCAA tournament participation in the late 1990s before retiring. He currently does consulting work in basketball.
