Vincent Robert 'Putter' Petrino was an American football coach, best known for his long tenure as head coach at Carroll College in Montana from 1971 to 1998, where he achieved a record of 163–90–2. Born in Butte, Montana, he played as a halfback during college and began his coaching career at Grass Range High School, leading the team to district championships. His sons, Bobby and Paul, followed in his footsteps as quarterbacks and coaches. He passed away on July 26, 2018, at his home in Helena.
