Robert Lee Romby was an American Negro league pitcher born on December 15, 1918, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He played in the Negro leagues from 1946 to 1950, starting his career with the Baltimore Elite Giants. Romby served in the US Army during World War II. He was selected to participate in the prestigious East–West All-Star Game in 1948 and was part of the championship team in 1949. Romby passed away on November 25, 2004, at the age of 85.
