Robert Alexander 'Bob' Scobey was an American trumpeter and significant bandleader in the Dixieland revival scene in San Francisco, alongside Turk Murphy and Lu Watters. Raised in California, Scobey began playing jazz in 1938 and joined Lu Watters' Yerba Buena Jass Band in 1940. He formed his own band, Bob Scobey’s Frisco Band, in 1949, which performed locally in California. The band was featured on television and played with Louis Armstrong in 1953. He died in 1963 in Montreal, Canada, and his biography was published posthumously.
