Robert Chester Sheets is an American meteorologist born on June 7, 1937, in Marion, Indiana. He directed the National Hurricane Center from 1987 to 1995 and is known for his interviews during Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Sheets was involved with Project Storm Fury, aiming to modify hurricanes. After retiring in 1995, he became a hurricane analyst for ABC affiliates in Florida and co-authored the book 'Hurricane Watch: Forecasting the Deadliest Storms on Earth'.
