Bobby Poe, known as The Poe Kat, was an influential American musician born on April 13, 1933, in Vinita, Oklahoma. He formed Bobby Poe and The Poe Kats in the mid-1950s and was the backing band for rockabilly queen Wanda Jackson. They achieved acclaim with the hit 'Rock and Roll Record Girl'. Transitioning to artist management, he guided various acts, including The Chartbusters. Poe later established The Grand Grove Opry and produced a music radio show. He passed away on January 22, 2011, from a fatal blood clot, after battling throat cancer.
