Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., commonly known as Bongbong Marcos or BBM, is a Filipino politician born on September 13, 1957. He is the current president of the Philippines, having previously served as a senator from 2010 to 2016. He is the only son of former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and former first lady Imelda Marcos. Marcos has held several political positions including vice-governor and governor of Ilocos Norte. He won the presidential election in 2022, becoming the first candidate since 1986 to win with a majority of votes and the first to lose a vice-presidential race before winning the presidency.
